Cynthia Carter has blessed Mt. Si Food Bank for 20+ years, starting shortly after she retired. She has counted many a diaper, sorting and putting them into bags for our clients. She has been a jack of all trades doing dog food, laundry soaps, baby wipes, disinfectant wipes, muffins, rolls, bagels, and any other items that come to us in bulk.
She so faithfully has served on the client line giving out soups of many flavors. She has brought much joy to lots of people by sharing her magazines with them.
Cynthia met her husband, Herchel, at a church in Tacoma while he was serving in the military. When Herchel got out of the military they moved to Des Moines, IA and lived there for several years. There family began to grow and together they were blessed with 6 children. They did return to Washington and lived in North Seattle and Lynnwood, finally settling in North Bend.
Cynthia is now making a move in her life, selling her home, retiring from the food bank, and moving to Idaho to live with one of her daughters. She is going to be missed greatly on Mondays and Tuesdays here at the food bank.
For me, personally, I have admired her frankness, her faithfulness, her love for God, and her giving spirit to those around her who have been in need. She is always finding someone with a need and asking if we can do something to help. Her faithful giving to the Mt. Si Food Bank in so many ways has told me what kind of woman she truly is.
You will be missed greatly by everyone, but our prayer is that your new adventure will be one of great peace, joy, and contentment. I know that you will find ways to bless others and continue to give of yourself.
Finally, our dear Cynthia will be celebrating her 87nd birthday on Monday, November 2nd. We want to wish her a very Happy Birthday and a year filled with blessings, health, and lots of surprises!
May God go with you and keep you in His Care.
